More than a few ways to get out on the water at Lake Tahoe will be highlighted at a new event in South Lake Tahoe this weekend.
The Lake Tahoe Boat Show runs Friday through Sunday, June 24-26, at Tahoe Keys Village and features 2016 watercraft from a variety of manufacturers.
“We have some exciting things,” boat show founder Harry Jones said. “We have a big display by MasterCraft. We have a big display by Cobalt.”
Sea-Doo personal watercraft and Hobie Cat paddleboards and kayaks will also be among the products displayed at the show, which grew out of dealers approaching Jones to put on a boat show at the South Shore.
“There’s no better place in the world to boat than Lake Tahoe, as far as freshwater goes,” Jones said.
On Saturday, South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club will host a Brew Fest in conjunction with the boat show. Participating breweries include Cold Water Brewery & Grill, DNA Brewery, Sidellis Lake Tahoe Brewery and Restaurant, Stateline Brewery & Restaurant and The Brewery at Lake Tahoe. The Brew Fest will be held Saturday only and is $20 to enter.
Also on display at the boat show will be a mahogany pirate ship playground from Dixon Woodworking out of Scio, Oregon.
“It’s a very expensive playground, however, it’s a showstopper,” Jones said.
Blue Gas Marine, 1862 David Walley’s, Cardinale Way Toyota, Community Ink Inc., San Ramon Boat Center, Sierra Mountain Sports, South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club, South Shore Boats, Tahoe Vista Sports, U.S. Bank and Walker Marine are also among the exhibitors at this weekend’s event.
The show runs from 1-7 p.m. Friday, June 24; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 26. It is free to attend.
Tahoe Keys Village is located at 589 Tahoe Keys Blvd., at the corner of Tahoe Keys Boulevard and Venice Drive in South Lake Tahoe. More information is available at http://www.laketahoeboatshow.com.
