You know him from “The Daily Show” and “Live (At the Time)” — that’s right: Stand-up comedian Demetri Martin is coming to town.
The Netflix-produced “Live (At the Time)” debuted in 2015. An hour-long stand-up special, the show covers everything from screwdrivers to walrus vampires — the variety is a common theme for the Comedy Central regular.
After spending time as a contributor on “The Daily Show” in the mid-2000s, Martin began hosting Comedy Central’s “Important Things With Demetri Martin” in 2009. The show ran for two seasons.
“Martin has appeared in several feature films and television shows, including Ang Lee’s ‘Taking Woodstock’ and Showtime’s ‘House of Lies.’ Demetri’s first two books, ‘This is a Book’ and ‘Point Your Face at This’ are both New York Times Bestsellers.
“Demetri recently wrote and directed his first feature film, titled ‘Dean,’” states the Visit Reno Tahoe website.
The film, which released in April 2016, is a comedy-drama focused on Dean, a man who falls in love while attempting to stop his father from selling his family home.
Catch Martin’s off-beat, deadpan humor at Reno’s Silver Legacy Resort Casino on Saturday, March 18, at 8 p.m.
Tickets for the New York-born comedian’s performance are available online through Ticketmaster beginning at $26.50.
Silver Legacy Resort Casino is located at 407 N. Virginia St.
