16 grads receive scholarships

Provided to the Tahoe Daily Tribune. Recipients of $16,000 in scholarships from the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe were recognized at a recent meeting of the service club.

The Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe recently presented $16,000 in scholarships to seniors from South Tahoe High School. The recognition took place during the Rotary meeting at Harveys Resort Casino.

Awards are based on academic achievement, community involvement, financial need and oral interviews. Twelve scholarships were given to students enrolling in traditional colleges next fall and four scholarships were awarded to students enrolling in vocational training programs.

Recipients are Allison Abicht, Brianna Biller, Greg Gaskin, Eva Gonzalez, Megan Hillyard, Cascade Lueder, Yolanda Marty, Max Meeker, Hiron Morar, Mariko Peshon, Nicole Riegel, Nicholas Stewart, Taylor Lafferty, Logan Lefler, Martin Rider and Adam Cook.
