17th annual choral extravaganza at MontBleu next week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Everyone is invited to attend the 17th annual MontBleu Holiday Extravaganza, made up of nine choirs from local schools and selected dancers from Marcia Sarosik’s Lake Tahoe Shining Stars.

The event is set for 7 p.m., Dec. 14 and 15. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors/students and students younger than 5 are free. Tickets are available at the door.

Featured will be 160 elementary singers from the Tahoe Elementary Honor Choir, 60 middle school singers from the Tahoe Intermediate Honor Choir, 16 high school singers from the Blue Ribbon Classical Choir as well as Marcia Sarosik’s dancers.



The finale includes more than 260 singers. Pre-show entertainment includes music as performed by local student groups, and the Faculty Parent Choir will welcome guests, by singing as patrons enter the showroom.

Some of the highlighted songs include:



Elementary students: “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”

Intermediate students: “It’s Almost Time for Christmas” and “Wranglin’ Reindeer”

Blue Ribbon Choir: “Beautiful Snow” and “Santa You’re a Pretty Cool Dude”

Finale: “Santa’s On His Way Medley” and “Jingle Bell Rock” featuring all nine local choirs
