2012 OLYMPICS | US men play Tunisia next in Olympic basketball

AP Sports Writer

LONDON (AP) – Coach Mike Krzyzewski says the U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team has to always perform at its best, no matter the opponent.

He says there’s no such thing as an off night.

The Americans will face Tunisia – not exactly an international powerhouse – on Tuesday after opening pool play with a 27-point win over France.

It would be easy for the U.S. to be overconfident, but Krzyzewski found enough flaws in the opening win to keep players focused on improving every time out.

The U.S. team started poorly, fell into foul trouble and struggled shooting in an unfamiliar arena before pulling away from France in the second half.

Tunisia, which lost to Nigeria in its opener Sunday, should allow the U.S. to refine things before getting deeper in the tournament.
