Looking for laughs? Search no further than South Shore’s MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa, which hosts the finalists of the 42nd Annual San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition for a night of comedy on Friday, Sept. 29.

“Following three weeks of elimination shows in the Bay Area, the five finalists in this year’s 42nd Annual San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition will perform their finely tuned acts at MontBleu Casino,” states the venue’s webpage for the event.

This year’s top competitors are comedians Tyrone Hawkins, Matt McClowry, Ellis Rodriguez, Chris Bennett and Mark Smalls. Former competition winner Johnny Steele hosts the event.

“In the finals, [contestants] will perform 12-15 minute long sets in five more shows… and, a winner is crowned,” states the San Francisco Comedy Competition website.

“This is a judged contest. Each contestant will perform for a unique group of judges for every show they do. Judges score each contestant in seven categories.”

Comedians take the Stateline stage beginning at 8 p.m. with doors opening an hour prior to start time.

Tickets for the event range from $20-$35, plus tax and fees. They are available for purchase online via http://www.montbleuresort.com, where additional information can be found.
