South Lake Tahoe police arrested a 60-year-old man March 20 on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly attacked his roommate with a glass bottle.

Timothy Lawson was arrested about 2:30 a.m. after police responded to a report of an assault at an apartment complex on the 3400 block of Lake Tahoe Boulevard, said Lt. David Stevenson.

Lawson’s 65-year-old roommate said he was attacked by Lawson. He suffered cuts to his face and had a tooth knocked out during the incident, according to police.

Lawson reportedly told police his roommate was the aggressor during the incident and said he did not hit his roommate with a bottle.

Police allegedly found a 5-inch knife on Lawson during his arrest. He was also arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon.

Lawson is being represented by the public defender’s office and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 2.
