A week of deals for seniors

Senior Celebration Week will take place Oct. 9 through 13 at South Lake Tahoe. The event, for those 60 and older, is sponsored by the South Lake Tahoe Parks & Recreation Commission.

Businesses around the area have donated specials for seniors throughout the week. They include:

1. Lakeside Inn & Casino. One hundred free breakfast coupons good through Oct. 31. They may be obtained at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

2. Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. Two-for-one buffet tickets and prizes. Request tickets at Harrah’s customer service desk.

3. Tahoe Queen and MS Dixie. Free Emerald Bay cruise, Oct. 9 through 13. Call (775) 589-4906 to make a reservation and show ID at information booth.

4. Tahoe Bowl. Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. One free game and no charge for shoes. Show ID at desk.

5. Heavenly Gondola Ride. Oct. 12 and 13. There is a $5 charge. Pick up coupon at the SLT Senior Center between Oct. 6 to 11. Present coupon and $5 along with ID at gondola ticket booth.

6. Dollar Queen in the Lakeview Mall. The first five items purchased are half off. Show ID when making purchase.

7. CC’s Pirate Store in the Lakeview Mall. Purchases are 10 percent off. Show ID when making purchase.

8. Freshies Restaurant in the Lakeview Mall. Present ID for 10 percent off when ordering.

9. South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena. Free ice skating. Sign up and show ID at the front desk.

10. Bijou Golf Course. One free round of golf. Sign up and show ID at the club house.

11. South Lake Tahoe Parks & Recreation. Free swimming or use of weight room. Sign up and show ID at desk.
