AARP will prepare tax returns

The American Association of Retired Persons program for all middle to low income families, in conjunction with the IRS, will prepare tax returns and electronic filing free of charge.

The program will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays and Thursdays through April 11 at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

The service also will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday through April 14 at the Kahle Community Center, 236 Kingsbury Grade.



Persons using the service must be able to show their Social Security cards for themselves as well as their spouses and any dependents prior to having their taxes prepared. They also should bring last year’s tax return if available. Each children born during the year must have his or her own Social Security card to qualify as a dependent.
