AAUW to host home tour

The American Association of University Women South Lake Tahoe Branch will host its 2012 Home Tour on Saturday, June 23.

This year’s tour, titled “At Home in Al Tahoe: Historic Retreats at The Lake,” will feature eight restored cabins, cottages adn homes in the historic South Shore neighborhood of Al Tahoe, the site of the first pioneer settlement on the Lake Tahoe shoreline.

The tour will take place from noon to 4 p.m., rain or shine. On-street parking will be available at all locations. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and highlight points of interest at each home.

Historical photographs of the Al Tahoe area will be on display and a silent auction of items donated by local businesses will be held at Pinchetti Winery. All proceeds will benefit AAUW-SLT’s educational scholarships for local women and girls

Light refreshments will be provided at Picchetti Winery’s Tasting Room throughout the event. Wine tasting will also be available for purchase in the tasting room.
