A Los Angeles group will bring its indie bluegrass rock sound to Lake Tahoe’s South Shore this week.

Abby and the Myth plays a free show in Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe’s Vinyl venue Friday night, Nov. 13.

The group is fronted by Abby Posner, a multi-instrumentalist who played banjo and guitar on two episodes of “Glee,” has songs regularly picked up in commercials and movies and has had two compositions featured on the radio show “This American Life.”

Posner has also scored two feature-length documentaries, and her original song “The King and She” was featured in this year’s “Old Fashioned.”

Posner formed Abby and the Myth in 2011.

“Fans compare Abby and The Myth to Mumford Sons, The Lumineers, and Matthew and The Atlas,” according to Posner’s online biography. “Their catchy harmonies, feel-good rhythms and sing-along choruses make for a lively, kinetic show that invariably has audiences up on their feet and dancing.”

Hard Rock is located at 50 U.S. Highway 50 in Stateline.
