The 23-year-old woman who died in a weekend motorcycle accident at Twin Bridges was identified as Kelly Ann Franciamone, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

Franciamone was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 on Sunday afternoon when she entered a posted 30 mph turn, nicknamed Rock Crusher, and lost control of her bike, which fell on its left side.

“(Franciamone) was ejected from the bike and both the bike and the rider slammed into the guardrail,” stated officer Jeff Gartner. Witnesses guessed Franciamone’s speed on the 2005 Yamaha R6 at somewhere between 55 to 80 mph, Gartner said.

Franciamone just moved to South Lake Tahoe from Maryland.

“From what we’re getting she hasn’t lived here too long,” Gartner said.

Autopsy results are pending.
