Accreditation for Tahoe Parents Nursery school

Provided to the Tribune

Tahoe Parents Nursery School is proud to announce our achievement of accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). With this acknowledgment we join other Lake Tahoe schools in attaining the highest standards for preschools. The goal of the accreditation system is to improve the quality of education provided for young children.

Accreditation assists families in making decisions about their children’s education by providing a system for identifying high quality programs. The standards for accreditation were developed by the early childhood profession. They represent the current consensus on what defines a high-quality program for young children.

Other local programs that have achieved accreditation include: Lake Tahoe Community College Child Development Center, Under the Magic Pine Tree, Lake Tahoe Child Development Center, Bijou State Preschool / Headstart, and Roots and Wings Children’s Center. For additional information on NAEYC programs visit naeyc.org.

This achievement by TPNS culminates a yearlong process of self-evaluation to validate our program with the NAEYC standards. The staff and families of TPNS are grateful to the Children and Families Commission of El Dorado County for their financial support with our accreditation fees. For information about membership in TPNS or to add your child to our waiting list, please call (530) 541-8767.
