Whether you live here at Lake Tahoe or came up for the weekend, you’re in luck. This will be one of the busiest entertainment weekends so far this winter at the South Shore; and as an added bonus, we should have a bunch of new snow on the ground by Friday morning. So, you really can’t go wrong. That being said, here are a couple personal picks for this weekend:

Tahoe Adventure Film Fest

If you’re looking to do what the locals do, the Tahoe Adventure Film Festival should be at the top of your list. The always-entertaining celebration of the action sports community takes place Friday, Dec. 11, at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. More information on page 9.

Matt and Kim

The best live music is always buoyed by the energy of the crowd, and this Brooklyn duo has mastered the art of inspiring enthusiastic audiences. Matt and Kim play Saturday, Dec. 12, at Heavenly Village. Best of all, it’s free. More information on page 8.

Voodoo Glow Skulls

Another group that knows how to move a crowd, Voodoo Glow Skulls, play Whiskey Dick’s Saloon Friday night. Not too many punk and ska bands are nearing their 30th anniversary, but these guys are only a couple years away, and it’s largely because of their live show. More information on page 6.
