Adam Jensen: End 2015 in style at Lake Tahoe

With all of the new snow at Lake Tahoe, skiers and snowboarders have plenty of reasons to rejoice.

It’s the holidays at Lake Tahoe, and there’s so much to do at the South Shore this week, it’s hard to choose. Safe to say, you should have no trouble staying entertained, whether it’s on a set of skis or on the dance floor. Here are some picks for the week:

Even if you’re not a hard-core EDM head, SnowGlobe Music Festival is still a lot of fun. Between music on three stages, ski and snowboard demonstrations, live art and fireworks, there’s plenty of activity at this fifth annual festival near Lake Tahoe Community College. That being said, the people watching may be the best part. More information on page 4.

Heavenly Village

If you’re not trying to stay up late Thursday night, Heavenly Village presents a great option. A “gondola ball drop” and fireworks at 9 p.m. leaves plenty of time for celebration, but also gives you the option of turning in early and being among the first on the hill first in 2016. More information on page 6.

Hit the Slopes

After feet of snow at Lake Tahoe-area ski resorts, this one is a no-brainer. Many resorts will have 100 percent of their terrain open for the holiday week, which is sweet relief for skiers and riders with four winters worth of pent-up pow-day energy waiting to be released. It’ll be fun out there, you may want to be apart of it.
