Adna Burdeen Gray

Adna Burdeen Gray, 84, of Carson City, Nev., beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away December 28, 2007, peacefully at her home.

Adna was born March 26, 1923 ,in St. Joseph, Mo., to Guy and Olive Weaver. As a child she moved to Fresno, Calif., with her parents and sister, Betty.

She married Thomas B. Gray Nov. 15, 1942. Adna is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty; and husband, Thomas B. Gray.

She had a distinguished and enjoyable career with the school districts in Fresno, Calif., South Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Reno, Nev., where she worked in administration spanning a devoted career of more than 30 years. Adna cherished many long lasting friendships throughout her career with the school districts. She had a strong Christian faith and enjoyed spending time listening to the music she once sang to when in a choir, and played on the piano as well.

She is survived by her son, Thomas B. Gray, Jr.; son, Mark B. Gray and wife Sandra; daughter, Janet B. Gray Yamaoka and husband Cliff; two granddaughters, three grandsons and five great grandsons. She also leaves behind her sister in law Bernita Gray of Camarillo, Calif., many nieces nephews and dear friends, all of whom will miss her.

A celebration of her remarkable life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice. FitzHenry’s Funeral Home cared for the arrangements.
