Air ambulances called to Heavenly twice over weekend

CareFlight air ambulance responded to two calls this weekend at Heavenly Mountain Resort.

On Saturday, Lake Valley Fire Protection District was called to Heavenly’s California Lodge on a ski-related injury. The call came in at 11:37 a.m., and CareFlight was called shortly after. The nature of the injuries was not available. A Heavenly spokesman, however, said the injuries were not life-threatening.

Meanwhile, CareFlight was dispatched to the Stagecoach Lodge on the Nevada side after a male skier suffered a head injury, according to emergency dispatch reports.

The injured skier was brought to Stagecoach by ski patrol, according to dispatchers. CareFlight landed shortly after 4:50 p.m. and transported the skier to Barton Memorial Hospital around 5:15 p.m.
