Funeral services will take place Friday for Albert P. “Al” Swartz, who passed away Sept. 5, 2006, at his home in South Lake Tahoe, with his family by his side.

Al was born Sept. 10, 1920, in Napoleon, S.D. A 33-year resident of South Lake Tahoe, he came to the area in June 1973. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an auto body master technician.

He owned and operated Al’s Mobile Home Park in South Lake Tahoe.

Al enjoyed playing Keno and spending time with his family. Running his trailer park was his life. He was a very loving grandfather and was an “adopted father” to many people.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Shawn Nash and Shaye Perez; great-grandchildren, Krystal Nash, Kaeli Nash, Michael Perez, Christopher Perez and Michelle Perez; and great-great-grandson, Arwen Vela. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Elaine Nash; his parents and 12 siblings.

Viewing will begin at 11 a.m. and funeral services will begin at noon Friday, both at Lake Tahoe Community Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Happy Homestead Cemetery.
