All aboard for helicopter rides
RE/MAX Tahoe Realty Today and Heli-Tahoe air tours have teamed up in a fundraising event for charity at the 17th annual Lake Tahoe Air Fest at the South Lake Tahoe Airport. The event is scheduled Sept. 2, and will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital at Washoe Medical Center. Heli-Tahoe will provide 10-minute helicopter tours of Emerald Bay at a cost of $45 per person.
Children’s Miracle Network is a nonprofit organization founded in 1983. Its mission is to generate funds and awareness programs for children and associated hospitals. Children’s Miracle Network is an international organization wherein 100 percent of the funds raised stay within their communities. Likewise, RE/MAX is an international business where success depends upon the sum of many local successes. Our mutual involvement on a local level builds a natural affinity for our business interests. As a corporate sponsor of CMN we enhance our role as local community citizens and as members of the global community. A special guest, Matthew Cummings, will be honored at the event. Matthew is a local child who was a recipient of CMN’s benefits after he was diagnosed with arteriovenous malformation, an abnormal collection or tangle of blood vessels in the frontal left lobe of his brain. CMN funded equipment that was vitally important to Matthew’s diagnosis and subsequent recovery.
The Lake Tahoe Air Fest is recognized as one of the best air shows in the region and helps support many local nonprofit organizations. Gates open at 8 a.m. with a Fun Run from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Kiwanis will serve a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Opening ceremonies begin at 10:30 a.m. with the NAS Fallon & Veterans of Foreign Wars providing color guards. Admission is $2 (under 12 free); airport parking costs $10 (includes free admission), and free bus transportation is provided. For more information call (530) 541-0480.
