South Lake Tahoe police have arrested two suspects in a July 8 burglary of Patient to Patient Collective, according to a Wednesday statement from the city.

Police arrested 19-year-old South Lake Tahoe resident Ronald Gionta and a 16-year-old boy in connection with the alleged burglary, according to the statement. Gionta was booked into El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe and the 16-year-old was booked into the Juvenile Treatment Center.

During the night of July 8, the pair allegedly broke into the medical marijuana dispensary and stole a variety of items while intentionally causing “extensive damage” to the interior of the building, according to the statement.

Both have allegedly confessed to participating in the burglary.

Police suspect a third person, a former collective employee, provided the alarm code to the two suspects who then forcibly entered the dispensary.

Police ask anyone with information to call 530-542-6100 or Secret Witness at 530-541-6800.
