Alpine Meadows Ski Resort set to open Saturday

LAKE TAHOE – Lake Tahoe’s Alpine Meadows Ski Resort will open for skiing and snowboarding Saturday. The resort will offer beginner through advanced terrain via Roundhouse high speed quad chair and Meadow double chair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather and conditions permitting.

“The Alpine Meadows snowmaking team has taken advantage of the cold temperatures throughout the past month to prepare for opening day,” Kent Hoopingarner, Alpine Meadows general manager said according to a statement. “The cold weather has also helped the mountain retain the natural snowfall from storms leading up to opening day.”

The opening day full-day adult and teen lift ticket price will be $44. Tickets for children ages five through 12 will be $15. Children of ages four and under ski or ride free. For all opening day ticket rates, visit

Alpine will open additional terrain as snow conditions permit. Daily conditions, base facilities, ticket rates, and season pass information are available by dialing the daily snow report line at 530.581.8374 or by visiting the online snow conditions report at
