Amber Alert: El Dorado County man arrested, 2-year-old missing
PLACERVILLE ” Authorities apparently have located a Shingle Springs man suspected of trying to kill his wife but haven’t found their 2-year-old son he reportedly kidnapped earlier this morning.
Charles Bailey, 50, was reportedly found at about 11 a.m. on property in Tuolumne County with the white Honda Passport in which he and the child fled.
The child, Andrew Anthony Bailey, remains missing at this time. An Amber Alert has been issued.
Andrew is described as being 3 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing 35 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue and white stripe shirt with red pants, according to information provided over the police scanner. Authorities, including a California Highway Patrol helicopter, are searching wooded, hilly property in Tuolumne County at this time.
El Dorado County sheriff’s deputies responding to a domestic violence call at 6:50 a.m. at the couple’s Shingle Springs residence on Wild Turkey Drive began the search for the man and child when it was discovered they were missing, according to sheriff’s sprokesman Bryan Golmitz.
The wife was taken to Mercy Hospital in Folsom with unknown injuries.
