Amber Alert issued for Yreka girl

YREKA, Calif. ” Authorities say the parents of a 3-year-old girl abducted during a home burglary early Monday had just met the suspect.

Yreka Police Lt. Dave Gamache said Francis Ann Collins’ parents met 22-year-old Kody Lee Kaplon during a party at their house Sunday night. The girl’s father, Ryan Collins, was awakened around 4:30 a.m. by her screams and apparently saw Kaplon drive off with her.

Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for the child.

The little girl is described as 3-feet tall, weighing 30 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a tie dyed T-shirt.

Kaplan is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds with brown hair, hazel eyes, tattoos, and driving a green Pontiac Grand Am with California license plate 3WKA651.
