American Legion Post 795 to host 9/11 ceremony

Lisa Herron

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — American Legion Post 795 of South Lake Tahoe invites the community to join members of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of the American Legion for a ceremony to honor the victims and first responders of Sept. 11, 2001.

The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at the American Legion Hall, located at 2748 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe. Light refreshments will be served.

“Sep. 11, 2022, marks the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attack on our country,” said Post 795 Commander Tom Millham. “It’s important to remember the innocent victims and first responders who died on that terrible day along with the brave men and women who continue to fight for the preservation of our great nation.”

The ceremony will also honor local first responders who serve our communities every day, protect our citizens, and dedicate their lives to preserving freedom and democracy.

American Legion Posts across the country encourage communities to plan and attend 9/11 ceremonies to ensure that the innocent victims and first responders lost that day are never forgotten.
