Anderson leads slopestyle qualifying at Mammoth

Jamie Anderson topped women’s slopestyle qualifying at the Sprint U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix on Thursday at Mammoth Mountain.

The South Lake Tahoe rider created some space from 20 foes by putting down a 50.3 second run.

As it was, Anderson’s first run of 44.0 was good enough to get her in the eight-competitor finals set for Sunday. Lynn Neil was second at 47.4 and Isabelle Lalive third at 46.70.

Truckee’s Chas Guldemond led a 54-rider men field by scoring two consistently good runs of 51.20. Nick Julius was second at 51.0 and Brett Esser third at 49.2.
