Animal blessing at Carson City

Provided to the Tribune

The second annual St. Francis Service to Bless the Animals will take place on Sunday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Carson City.

Animals, birds, reptiles and other pets will receive a blessing on the lawn of historic St. Peter’s at the corner of Division and Telegraph streets. Blessing will begin at about 10:45 a.m.

Prior to the outdoor blessing, the 10 a.m. church service will include a “guest dog” to represent all animals. At the conclusion of the indoor service, Father Jeff Paul will bless each of the animals assembled on the lawn.

All are invited to attend and bring their pets. St. Peter’s invites the participation of all interested in animal welfare, adoptions and rescue.

The 125-year-old church is located in the heart of Carson City’s Historic District. For further information, please contact Linda Goldsmith at (775) 749-5801.
