Animal coalition to host Mutt Strut Poker Run

Provided to the Tribune

The Animal Coalition of Tahoe will host its ninth annual Mutt Strut Poker Run on Sunday.

The event will begin at the South Lake Tahoe Library, 100 Rufus Allen Blvd., from 11-11:30 a.m. Participants will pick playing cards at stops along a 1.3-mile route, hoping for the best poker hands. Prizes will be awarded to those with the best hands. The event is not a race, but does serve as a fundraiser for ACT. No poker experience is needed. All funds benefit ACT’s spay-neuter program. Ten percent of proceeds will be donated to the El Dorado County animal shelter in Meyers.

After the walk, a party will be held at Timber Cove. Music, giveaways, raffle drawings and contests will be held. Poker hands may be purchased for $10 each or three hands for $25.
