Another fight reported at South Tahoe High School

A day after teachers and South Lake Tahoe police had a meeting to discuss gang activity, a fight broke out this morning among students at South Tahoe High School.

School officials and police are investigating. School administrators and police have been contacted but have not returned phone calls to the Tahoe Daily Tribune.

This morning’s violence is at least the fifth fight to occur within the past seven days among high school students.

Six South Tahoe High School girls were suspended as a result of the fights last Thursday at the school. The students were to be suspended for five days, officials said.

School administrators have repeatedly said the fights involve “cliques” at the school and would not label the recent acts of violence as gang related. However teachers met Wednesday with police to discuss gang related activity.
