Applicants sought for sustainability collaborative

A new sustainability collaborative is looking for applicants for membership and advising and supporting positions.

Lake Tahoe Sustainability Collaborative identifies itself as a regional forum that will promote economic, environmental and community health of the region, a press release stated. It intends to coordinate sustainability efforts and help define and implement a Sustainability Action Plan and tools tailored to the Tahoe-Truckee region.

Members will be required to prepare for and actively participate in the monthly meeting, which will be held in locations around Lake Tahoe.

Advisers must fulfill the membership duties, as well as offer to comment and offer input on plans and tool productions.

All applications for supporters will be accepted. Anyone who would like to receive communication from the collaborative must submit information on the application.

Anyone with an interest in sustainable economic, environmental and community health, as well as a community perspective, is encouraged to apply. Business owners and associations, local governments, nonprofits, and residents are welcome to apply.

Applications are due Tuesday. To apply, visit http://tinyurl.com/SCapply. Applicants who are selected will be notfied May 1.

The first meeting of the collaborative will take place May 14. Heather Fargo, executive policy officer for the Strategic Growth Council, will be the guest speaker.
