Area golf courses announce opening dates

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE/TRUCKEE – Despite recent snowstorms, it is spring, and that means many locals and tourists are gearing for golf season.

Below is a list of area golf courses and their tentative opening dates for the 2010 season. All dates are subject to change. Please check with individual courses for updated information.

SOUTH SHORE/REGION

Bijou Municipal Golf Course (South Lake Tahoe): To open Thursday, May 6.

Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course (Stateline): Opens Thursday, May 6 following back-to-back Locals’ Days on May 4 and 5.

Lake Tahoe Golf Course (Meyers): Scheduled to open Saturday, May 1. Driving range is open.

Tahoe Paradise Golf Course (Meyers): Will open as soon as possible; exact date remains unknown.

NORTH SHORE/REGION COURSES

Coyote Moon (Truckee): Opens Friday, May 21

Graeagle Meadows (Graeagle, Calif.): Now open, preseason rates apply until May 7.

Incline Village Mountain Course (Incline Village): Tentatively opens Friday, May 21

Incline Village Championship Course (Incline Village): Tentatively opens Saturday, May 15

Old Brockway Golf Course (Kings Beach): Now open

Old Greenwood Golf Course (Truckee): Opens Friday, May 14

Northstar-at-Tahoe (Truckee): Opens Friday, May 21

The Golf Club at Gray’s Crossing (Truckee): Tentatively opens Friday, May 14

Plumas Pines Golf Course (Graeagle, Calif.): Now open

Resort at Squaw Creek (Olympic Valley): Projected to open Memorial Day Weekend for nine holes

Tahoe City Golf Course (Tahoe City): Opens Saturday, May 15

Tahoe Donner Golf Course (Truckee): Opens Friday, May 28

Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club (Clio, Calif.): Now open
