Arm broken in auto accident

A South Lake Tahoe man broke his arm on Tahoe Mountain Road Sunday morning when a tan 1985 Toyota 4Runner he was driving left the road, hit some rocks and overturned.

The accident occurred at 9:20 a.m. when Matthew Starr, 30, was going north on Tahoe Mountain just south of Iron Mountain Road.

Starr told a California Highway Patrol officer that a bee on his leg forced him to take his eyes off the road. He was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital with a broken left arm.

The 4Runner came to rest partly in the northbound lane and received major damage, according to the CHP. Starr was wearing a seat belt during the accident.
