Arrests made after Arizona man attacked

William Ferchland

Two South Lake Tahoe men were arrested on suspicion of battery when they allegedly attacked an Arizona man at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe last week, a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy reported.

Jason Cannole, 21, was booked on suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon when he used a belt to choke and hit the 30-year-old from Phoenix during the early hours of May 30, the deputy stated.

Cannole, along with a 22-year-old arrested on suspicion of battery, reportedly attacked the Phoenix man when the pair said something disparagingly about the man’s wife, the deputy stated. The man confronted the two men, who preceded to beat him, the deputy reported.

The Phoenix man suffered swollen eyes and a swollen lip in the altercation.
