Artist Studio Tour dates announced

Local artist group Tahoe Art League announced its Artist Studio Tour for two weekends July 24, 25, 26 and July 31, Aug. 1, 2 from 10 a.m to 5 p.m..

Attendees will visit 30 local artists at 20 locations in South Lake Tahoe locations to talk with them and view their sculptures, oils, watercolors, and dye on silks, drawings, photography, jewelry and related works. Artwork will be for sale. Some artists will perform demonstrations of their specialties. Participate in the passport drawings with prizes for loyal visitors.

The tour is self-guided; a map will guide attendees from one location to another throughout the day. Pick up maps online at http://www.talart.org or at TAL Art Center, 3062 Highway 50, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.

Artists included are watercolorist and oil painter Dave Russo, marble sculptor David Foster, oil painter Kit Knight, watercolorist and dye-on-silk painter Nina Major, metal sculptor Kelly Smith Cassidy, and acrylic painter Ellen Nunes. Two Tahoe Art League scholarship awardees studying at Lake Tahoe Community College will be joining David Foster and Kelly Cassidy’s studio.

The Tahoe Art League was formed in 1964. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting fine art and art education in the community. Tahoe Art League provides a free monthly art demonstration for the public, ongoing workshops and classes, operates two art galleries, exhibits and sells art throughout town, participates in numerous summer outdoor shows, provides art scholarships to aspiring young artists, and has activities for all ages, needs, and talents.
