Markleeville artist Charles Muench received the “Best of Show/Artist’s Choice Award” for his painting “Morning Light in the Alley” at the 2006 Telluride Plein Air Exhibit in Telluride, Colo.

Muench painted in town and in the mountains for a week during the show. Twenty-five artists from around the nation were invited to paint in and around the town. Participating artists were to submit one of their finished paintings for silent auction and judging during the gala reception at the historic Sheridan Opera House.

The “Best of Show” award was determined by the artists voting for their favorite painting. Charles Muench was honored with this award. More of Muench’s work can be seen on his Web site as well as locally at the Lone Tree Gallery in Minden. For more information call (775) 782-2522 or visit http://www.lonetreegallerynet.
