Artists invited to show work at Tallac Site

Artists and craftspeople are invited to join the Tallac Site Celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 26. Sponsored by The Tahoe Heritage Foundation and the Tahoe Tallac Association, the Tallac Site Celebration is a fun, community day with food, entertainment, Pope House Tours, and exhibits.

All types of medium are welcome, including but not limited to: painting, sculpture, fiber, glass, jewelry, woodwork, ceramics, printmakers and photography. Spaces are 10-by-10 feet and rent for $75 a day. The Honeymoon Cabin is available for $150. Artists may share a space. Artwork will be “casually” juried and artists should submit 6 to 10 photos, slides, or digital images with an image list to the Tahoe Heritage Foundation, P.O. Box 8586, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96158.

The deadline for submissions is June 3.

The Tallac Site Celebration is the kick-off for the Valhalla Arts & Music Festival, sponsored by the Tahoe Tallac Association, and the opening of the Baldwin Museum and Tallac Historic Site programs, managed by the USDA Forest Service and sponsored by the Tahoe Heritage Foundation.

The Tallac Historic Site is located next to beautiful Lake Tahoe on Highway 89, three miles north of the “Y,” in South Lake Tahoe.
