Auction will be silent, band will swing

At the Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra’s “Elegant Evening in Historic Tahoe” this year’s silent auction will include the work of at least five local artists. To be held in the Horizon’s Sequoia Ballroom on May 17, the evening will be brought to life by the sounds of Brian Farnon and his Tahoe Big Band. When guests are not dancing or dining they will have a chance to bid on numerous silent auction items and raffle baskets.

The community has been very generous with donations and amongst the 40 silent auction items on offer will be a TV from ABCO and a Giants basket containing four tickets to an upcoming game. The grand prize of $1,000 can be won by anyone purchasing a $40 ticket.

Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra is grateful to the following corporate sponsors – ABCO/JC Penney Catalog Store, David & Johnson Ltd., Harveys Hair Design, Horizon Casino Resort, Mountain View Management, Ross Groelz DDS, Royal Aloha Vacation Club, South Tahoe Refuse, Tahoe Women’s Care and Withrow Oxygen.

Dedicated to providing and supporting a wide variety of community service projects, the professional and business women of Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra invite the community to enjoy “An Elegant Evening in Historic Tahoe.” Tickets sales will benefit a project in the community and may be purchased at the door or by calling Marilyn Milholland at (530) 541-8933.
