On Saturday, May 18, 4-5:30 p.m., at South Tahoe Middle School Multi-Purpose Room, Barney Sarlzberg will present a delightful program about being an author and illustrator. Through music, drawing, and slides, Barney will demonstrate how a book/story is created. It will be just plain fun and leave you with the message “Your dreams can come alive.”

Barney Sarlzberg has received the Oppenheim Award and Parents Choice Award for children’s literature. He was a 2002 California Young Reader Medal nominee for “Mrs. Morgan’s Lawn. He is a nominee for 2003 CYRM award for “Soccer Mom From Outer Space.” The Lake Tahoe Reading Council, sponsors of Barney’s visit to the South Shore, will include a book sale and book signing also on Saturday at STMS.

Tickers are $5/adult, $2/child and are on sale at the door. You may, also contact Linda Wysong, (530) 544-0794 for tickets in advance. Lake Tahoe Reading Council representatives have tickets at each elementary school site.
