Authorities ID deceased transient man

Authorities have identified a transient man who died approximately nine days after being detained in Heavenly Village.

The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner identified the man as 46-year-old Scott Craddock. His last known place of residence was Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, according to the examiner’s office.

Craddock, a transient man known to law enforcement on Lake Tahoe’s South Shore, died on Jan. 9 at Renown in Reno, the Tribune previously reported. After being kicked out of the Marriott in Heavenly Village on New Year’s Eve, Craddock was detained by private security when he refused to stop behaving erratically.

When the first South Lake Tahoe police officer arrived on scene, the officer noticed Craddock was not breathing. The officer began life saving measures and medical responders were contacted.

The investigation into Craddock’s death is pending toxicology reports. A spokesperson for the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner said those results usually take 10 to 12 weeks.
