Authors to talk about books
May 9, 2014
Regional author and mindfulness meditation teacher JoAnn Saccato will be the guest speaker at Unity at the Lake at 10 a.m., May 18. The topic of Saccato's talk will be "Companioning the Sacred Journey: A Guide to Creating a Compassionate Container for Your Spiritual Practice."
Saccato, a past resident of South Lake Tahoe, now lives in Lake County, Calif.
She will share the story of how her book, "Companioning the Sacred Journey: A Guide to Creating a Compassionate Container for Your Spiritual Practice," and the simple tools of journaling, mindfulness and affirmations can lead to more authenticity, gratitude and freedom.
Following the service, Saccato will give a free two-hour interactive workshop designed after her 5-week Introductory Courses.
"We will explore the three foundations — Journaling, Affirming and Mindfulness — and learn how they help us meet life more intentionally and with greater compassion," she explained. The workshop is offered on a love-offering basis.
