Babbitt one of only three averaging 20 points, 10 boards

RENO – Nevada forward Luke Babbitt is one of only three college basketball players in the country to be averaging at least 20 points and 10 rebounds per game entering Saturday’s game at home against Idaho.

Through 17 games this season, the 6-foot-9 sophomore from Galena High School is scoring 20.8 points and grabbing an even 10 rebounds an outing. He ranks 18th in the NCAA in scoring and has 12 double-doubles so far for the Wolf Pack (10-7, 2-2 Western Athletic Conference).

Radford’s Art Parakhouski ranks third in the NCAA in both scoring and rebounding. The senior center is averaging 23.9 points and 12.7 rebounds per game.

St. Mary’s senior center Omar Samhan is averaging 21.3 points and 10.9 boards per game.
