Barnett, Hausback announce engagement

Marcy A. Barnett and Brian Hausback of Sacramento recently announced their engagement and are making plans to be married in September at Lake Tahoe.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Robert and Joyce Barnett of Bristol, Conn. In 1997 she received a master’s degree in hydrogeology from the University of Nevada, Reno. She was a resident of South Lake Tahoe from 1990 to 2000, where she worked for El Dorado County Environmental Management. She is currently a senior project manager with Engineering-Environmental Management, Inc., at Rancho Cordova, Calif., as well as an active member of the Tahoe Area Sierra Club and the Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates.

The future bridegroom is the son of Peter and Virginia Hausback of Long Beach, Calif. He received his Ph.D. in geology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1984. He is president and founder of the Volcanological Society of Sacramento as well as chair of the geology department at California State University, Sacramento. He leads numerous volcano expeditions to Baja California, the Sutter Buttes and other destinations.
