Baroque band plays coffee house

Dream Spirit Baroque Band will entertain at Strange Brew Coffee House, Lake Tahoe Boulevard at Carson Avenue, across from Burger King on three dates in February.

They are 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 8 and noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 14 for music lovers and sweethearts and noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 27. The musical performances are free of charge and open to the public.

The band features Celtic, baroque and folk chamber music as well as songs and dances from around the world. The sound is lighthearted and comfortable. The four musicians play an original mix of instruments including dulcimer, guitar, violin, cello, recorder, dumbek, which is a middle eastern tabla drum, and other percussion instruments.

Strange Brew serves espresso coffee, teas, pastries and other light fare.
