Barton celebrates 50th anniversary

Barton Memorial Hospital celebrates its 50th year this weekend.
Employees, volunteers and foundation and hospital board directors held a celebration Friday in the hospital’s cafe.
Father John Grace, one of the hospital’s founding members, shared stories about the hospital and blessed it for another 50 years.
Barton Memorial Hospital started operating Nov. 23, 1963.
Each hospital department provided an item for a time capsule that will be opened in another 50 years.
