Barton Hospice thanks volunteers
Provided to the Tribune
Barton Hospice of the Lake recently held its annual volunteer appreciation lunch at the Cantina Restaurant. This was a time for the hospice staff to convey their gratitude and thanks to all the Patient Care Volunteers for the compassionate work they performed over the past year. Patient Care Volunteers are required to attend a 24-hour training to provide the skills needed in giving practical and emotional support services to hospice patients and their families.
Staff Support Volunteers are very important in bringing hospice care to our community. Hospices have a long tradition of utilizing volunteers in the office as well as patient care. These contributions have proven to be invaluable in the day-to-day hospice operations.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer and who wants to give back to his or her community in a meaningful way, please call John Grady, Volunteer Coordinator for Barton Hospice at (530) 543-5607.
