Basin Advisory meets Friday

Legislation to help Lake Tahoe and the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California’s access to the region are some of the topics to be discussed at the next meeting of the Lake Tahoe Basin Federal Advisory Committee.

The 19-member committee is scheduled to meet Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 1900 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The meeting is open to the public.

The committee was formed by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture in December 1998. Various basin representatives comprise the committee, and it is supposed to provide recommendations to the federal agencies involved in the fight to preserve Lake Tahoe’s environment.
