Clark Pest Control will host a free one-day seminar called “Bed Bugs: The Realities, The Liabilities & The Remedies” to help educate facility managers.

There are 75 spots available for anyone who manages a facility or property where bed bugs could be a problem.

The bed bug educational event will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 25 at John Ascuaga’s Nugget in Sparks. Lunch will also be provided.

“Because Reno and Tahoe is a popular tourist destination, it is even more susceptible to bed bugs than many other cities, so our goal is to help educate the community about solutions to what is becoming a growing pest epidemic,” said Robert Baker, operations manager, Clark Pest Control. “We want the people in charge of these facilities to be able to make smart and timely decisions if and when they are faced with having to identify and fight bed bugs.”

The event will provide guests a broad perspective on how bed bugs are affecting people around the world, the liabilities that property owners and managers face when it comes to bed bug infestations, as well as recommendations on how to treat infestations with an emphasis on alternative treatments such as heat. Speakers include Jim Fredricks from the National Pest Management Association, Jeff Lipman of the Lipman Law Firm that deals with bed bug litigation, and other industry experts.
