Bereavement group meets

Compassionate Friends, an organization that gives support to parents and other relatives of children of any age who have died, are having a holiday potluck at 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at a private home. Friends as welcome.

Participants are asked to bring their favorite potluck dish to share and an ornament that reminds them of their loved one with that child’s name, birth and death dates on the back. The ornaments will be exchanged at the event. Candle lighting in memory of the children also will take place. This is a warm and friendly time of fellowship for families to get together and is also a time of comfort for those attending.

For more information about the event and to coordinate the menu call Arline at (775) 588-6997. For more information about the organization and to receive a bimonthly newsletter call the leader of the group, Deborah Woodruff, at (530) 541-5587.
