Bernard McEvoy

Memorial services will take place Aug. 11 for Bernard McEvoy, who died Aug. 4, 2004. He was 70.

Bernard was born July 4, 1934, at Kilcoo, County Down, Ireland. He retired as a construction superintendent in 1992, when he moved to Tahoe. He was a 44-year member of Carpenter’s Union Local No. 22. A Gaelic football player, he was a member of the Kilcoo team when they won the County Championship in 1957 and he continued playing in San Francisco. He coached Little League, soccer and baseball champions in Marin County in the early 1980s.

He is survived by daughter Jacqueline Evoy; son, Sean McEvoy; granddaughter, Samantha Caitlin McEvoy; and son-in-law, Rob Schroder.



A Rosary and memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. Aug. 11 at St. Theresa Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that remembrances be made to the League to Save Lake Tahoe, 955 Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
