OREM, Utah- Despite a double-double from Donald Sloan, the Reno Bighorns fell to Utah 101-100 Saturday night in their first overtime contest of the season.

Reno mounted a late comeback, overcoming an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to push the game into overtime. But Utah outscored Reno 8-7 in the three-minute extra period to salvage a weekend split. With Utah holding a 100-97 lead, Salim Stoudamire had a chance for a game-tying three-pointer with less than five seconds left, but the shot was off the mark and Utah escaped with the victory.

Sloan notched a 20- point effort for the second-straight night, pouring in 24 points and adding 12 rebounds in his second start since replacing Aaron Miles at the point guard spot. D.J. Strawberry added 27 points for the ‘Horns, including a last-second three-pointer, and Patrick Ewing, Jr. set a new team-season-high with 15 rebounds before fouling out in overtime.

Brandon Costner led six Flash players in double figures, scoring 19 points. Tony Gaffney added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Utah, which snapped a three-game losing streak against Reno.
