City soliciting applications for commissioners

The South Lake Tahoe City Council is soliciting for applications for appointment to the Building/ADA Board of Appeals and to the Planning Commission.

Two American with Disability members who will be appointed to the Building/ADA Board of Appeals. California Health and Safety Code requires that the two ADA members shall be physically handicapped persons. Applicants must reside and be domiciled within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Building / ADA Board of Appeals Commission meets on an as-needed basis, a press release stated.

One member will be appointed to serve a two-year term on the Planning Commission. Applicants must reside within city limits. The Planning Commission meets monthly assuming there is business to conduct.

Applications may be obtained at the City Clerk’s Office located at 1901 Airport Road, South Lake Tahoe, California between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications can also be downloaded from the city’s website at http://www.cityofslt.us, mailed, faxed or emailed to interested parties upon request to the City Clerk’s office. Completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5 p.m. Sept. 25.

The City Council will be making appointments at its Oct. 1 meeting.

Clean Tahoe hires new staff member

Ellen Flynn retired from Clean Tahoe earlier this summer after more than eight years of service to the program.

Catherine Parsons Cecchi has been hired to oversee the business’s operations and field crew as well as leading communications and outreach efforts, according to a press release.

Boys & GIrls Club seeking sponsors for golf tournament

The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe is looking for sponsors for its 20th annual golf tournament.

The tournament will take place Oct. 14 at Edgewood Tahoe. Sponsorships are available for each hole-in-one, all 18 holes and for tee prizes. Businesses can also donate raffle prizes such as products, services, meals, overnight stays, rounds of golf and stand-up paddleboard rides. In addition to supporting the club, sponsors will also receive exposure and recognition for their participation.

Sierra-at-Tahoe resort launches online store

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort recently launched a new online store.

The new store has been designed to provide a user-friendly experience with improved navigation and functionally throughout. Season passes, rental equipment and lift tickets can be purchased at the site.

The new online store has an updated product structure for easier guest navigation from store entry through to purchase, according to a press release. It also gives guests a visible shopping cart throughout the store transaction, and has been redesigned with updated product imagery for easier recognition and store navigation.
